Superhero Party
Today’s Party Feature is brought to you by Nancy Atilano!
Nancy threw this Superhero party for her son’s birthday this year and I just LOVE those capes her mother-in-law made!
Read on for more words from Nancy with some great budget saving tips…..
We typically have 30 kids at our parties (16 of those are immediate cousins). I usually start buying items months in advance and this party was no exception. This year my son was into anything and everything superhero. There has been so much inspiration to pull from lately with superhero parties, but this time around we were on a budget. I bought comic books online (some comic collector is probably super upset that I cut them up) and made popcorn cones, a banner and centerpieces. I found table coverings at Walmart for 50 cents each. My mother in law made me 30 capes over a 2 month period. We also scored big because my cousin plans events and one of them happened to be a superhero bowl-a-thon so she let us use her backdrop. I did spend money on cookies, cupcake toppers and ice cream bowls/spoons. I see so many parties that can sometimes be overwhelming and in the past I tried to live up to that but this year was all about my son and making sure he had a blast and of course I added a little bit of me and my love of throwing parties.
Great job, Nancy!
