How to make homemade oatmeal
One of our favorite things to eat in the morning is oatmeal. We don’t like the instant/microwave oatmeal. I’m going to share this quick 1-2-3 minute recipe with you. It’s my mom’s recipe. She taught me how to make it. Trust me… it is so delicious!
Ingredients:
3 cups of milk
1 cup of oats (I prefer Quaker)
Brown sugar (as desired)
Cinnamon stick
Directions:
Add milk in a pot, cinnamon stick and brown sugar. You will add as much sugar as you’d like. I have a sweet tooth so I like mine very sweet.
Bring to boil- low heat so your milk doesn’t burn or stick to the bottom of the pot.
Throw the oats in the pot. You may add more oats or less depending how thick you like your oatmeal.
Stir and cover with lid for a minute or two. That’s it…quick and easy!
Enjoy!
My girls love it with frozen blueberries! I like my plain with a whole wheat toast.
