Sofia the First Birthday Party
I am so excited to share this “Sofia the First” party with you! As you know this is the newest Disney princess and I just love her! She is adorable!
I was tickled when Jaclyn from Peckled sent this party to my inbox this week. She is truly talented. See for yourself
Hints at party activities (Sofia book, purple crowns) served to further excite the guests upon arrival and licensed plush woodland characters sat mischievously among the party setup – just as they would in the show!
In Jaclyn’s words:
My three-year-old daughter, like many other little girls, is completely in love with Disney’s new princess, Sofia the First. She and her friends squeal in delight at the sight of Sofia’s beautiful purple dress and love to play pretend in her likeness.
In this excited spirit, I thought it would fun to style a simple, yet playfully elegant “Royal Purple Play Date” inspired by the loveable little princess Sofia and her purple gown.
The entry table was set with flowing lace, sparkly accessories, and a luscious fabric backdrop. Handmade decorations like the pinwheel banner, coffee filter/baking cup poms on DIY candlesticks, and hand-painted crown added a special touch and displayed beautifully next to purchased items like shimmer gumballs, embellished purple fans, and party favors.
Guests created their own special amulet necklaces (one of Sofia’s prized possessions)
Before lunch, a mom read a Sofia book to guests and the children then took turns reading to themselves, playing dress up, and snuggling with the plush critters and precious peg doll during free time.
Since this was an actual play-date scheduled at 10am, I skipped a dessert table and chose a healthy purple lunch spread instead. The children enjoyed crown shaped PB&J sandwiches, fresh purple fruits and veggies, and a “fancy” parfait made of layered yogurt, blueberry muffins, and blueberries. I even found purple carrots at my local gourmet grocer!
The children loved sipping purple juice from decorated milk jugs and some were very excited to be able to take it home! Other party favors included purple crowns, shimmer gumballs, and purple rose shaped hand soap.
How a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e is this princess party?! I love love love it!!
Thank you Jaclyn!
